Superior Comics began with a simple moment of observation. When our founder –Julian Watson– was just 14, he visited a newly built community that had something striking—there were no plants, no flowers, nothing green. A family member commented on it, and in that instant, Julian’s imagination sparked. That very day, he sketched the first image of what would become Tulip.

From that spark, Julian didn’t just create a comic—he created a company. Superior Comics was born out of a passion to bring stories to life, to share imagination with the world, and to show that even a single idea can grow into something extraordinary. Every issue of Tulip, as well as the merchandise and projects under Superior Comics, has been created by Julian himself—written, drawn, inked, colored, lettered, and designed—turning a personal dream into a professional endeavor.

Tulip was crafted with a clear mission: to create a comic that is easy to jump into, accessible to all through both physical and digital versions, and appropriate for every age. In a landscape often dominated by hyperviolent or overly adult stories, Tulip stands as a story of hope, adventure, and creativity—a reflection of the values at the heart of Superior Comics.
